As Scimitar continue the journey towards sustainability, we are pushing every avenue to reduce and minimize our impact on the environment.
That’s why, every month, we fund the planting of trees in high-impact areas such as Madagascar & Mozambique.
Importantly, this is equivalent to the removal of 26.49 tonnes of CO2 per month.
Scimitar x Ecologi
Picking the right partner was a key element of this project.
We wanted to make sure all our sustainable efforts was fully certified to established international standards.
With this commitment, we are now able to offset the complete carbon impact of our USA-based workforce, head office operations, as well as a personal offset for our staff.
That’s not all. The carbon offsetting projects we are involved in are all over the world, and include peatland restoration & conservation in Indonesia and converting landfill gas to energy in Northern Turkey, which you can explore below.

Peatland restoration & conservation in Indonesia
The project sets out to protect and restore 149,800 hectares of peatland ecosystem in Indonesia. This includes the protection of existing peatland forest through satellite monitoring and fire management.

Converting landfill gas to energy in Northern Turkey
Instead of being released into the atmosphere, dangerous, earth-harming methane gas from landfill sites can instead be tapped, captured, and used as an energy source for generating electricity.
The Scimitar Forest
Every month we fund the planting of 385 trees, with over 3000 trees currently in our Scimitar forest.
Each of these are fully verified & certified. You can see them all in our digital forest below.
To put our contribution into context, here are some stats on how our carbon offsetting program looks.
The 385 trees equate to 26.49 tons of carbon reduction, monthly. This equates to:
